Program Officers Vacancy Requirements
DEDI is looking to hire two Program Officers with expertise in political science and/or media studies. The applicants should be holding a post-graduate university degree in political science and/or media studies and have 3-5 years work experience in program management.
Deadline for applications is Feb.15, 2012.
The program officer will be integrated in a team of Program Officers, Program Assistants and Information Co-ordinator. The Program Officer will coordinate his/her daily work with the program team. The post is open to Egyptian nationals as well as to other nationalities with a permanent residence in Egypt. The desired starting date is March 15, 2012.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Following the development in Egypt and the Arab region through networking, studies, conference participation and travel by providing independent input and analysis on content, strategy and operational methods related to the Institute’s work,
- Identifying and assessing potential Egyptian, Danish and Arab program partners and facilitating the elaboration of partnership projects and other activities in accordance with the work methodologies of the Institute,
- Monitoring and following up on on-going projects and other activities of the program including field visits and reporting for the annual report, board meetings and other,
- Performing daily monitoring of the project’s budget with assistance from the Institute’s admin and Finance Team,
- Developing and implementing activities and minor projects with support from the program assistants (e.g. conferences, workshops, exchange visits for partners, and study trips),
- Elaborating proper documentation and ensuring proper dissemination of the information about the program activities in collaboration with the Institute’s Communication Team,
- Engaging with external actors relevant to DEDI’s work including civil society and governmental organizations as well as international organizations, research institutes, think tanks and other,
- Performing other tasks as requested by the Managment Team.
Required qualifications:
- A post-graduate university degree in political science and/or media,
- 3 – 5 years professional experience including work experience in an international organization (governmental or private) as program manager or equivalent in relevant areas,
- Knowledge and experience in project management cycle, planning and follow-up methodology,
- Knowledge and experience in engaging with main actors in political and societal reform including government and civil society organizations,
- Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and English (a test might be required),
- Danish language is an asset,
- Excellent communication skills.

Program Assistants Vacancy Requirements
DEDI is looking to hire two full-time Program Assistants with a background in social science studies. The applicants should be holding a university degree in social science studies and have 1-3 years of work experience in an international organization (governmental or private) or NGOs working in relevant areas. Deadline for applications is Feb.15, 2012.
The Program Assistant is expected to provide administrative support and coordinate logistics pertaining to all DEDI project activities.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Assist the Program and Project Officers in compiling, proofreading, editing and tracking the complete data-pool of course participants, speakers, organizers bios, contact information and venue profiles for course catalogues, website, conferences or workshops organized by our partners,
- Assist the Program and Project Officers in the production and design of DEDI catalogues (liaison between the course organizers and designers/print house),
- Attend project events on behalf of the Program Officers to observe quality of workshops being implemented and ensure proper documentation such as registration and photographing,
- Assist the Program Officers, Project Officer and Communication Team in the collection and regular upload of data for the project homepage on DEDI’s website,
- Provide admin support to the Program and Project Officers in coordination with the admin team (e.g. booking tickets, hotels, transportation or scanning of contracts and legal documents),
- Assist the Program and Project Officers in drafting project documents and other relevant project material,
- Assist the Program Officers in liasing with external actors relevant to DEDI’s work,
- Assist the Program Officers in keeping the project archives updated,
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Program Officers and the Managment Team on an ad hoc basis.
Required qualifications:
- A university degree in social science studies,
- 1 – 3 years professional experience including work experience in an international organization(governmental or private),
- Excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and English (a test might be required),
- Danish is considered an asset,
