Dynamics of De-radicalization

Introduction

In December 2009, the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI) along with project officers Georges Fahmi and Lasse Engelbracht Lindekilde have organized a two-day conference under the title “Dynamics of De-radicalization”.

The project sought to explore the dynamics of de-radicalization strategies as they are applied across the world and to bring together actors in what can be termed the “de-radicalization coalition”. It is believed that applying a comparative approach in investigating the topic can help in highlighting lessons learned and best practices, so the project aims at ensuring greater coordination, exchange and networking among the various stakeholders which are part of the de-radicalization coalitions, namely the policy makers, researchers, religious authorities, media and civil society organizations.
