Transparency and Integrity
Projects >> Transparency and Integrity
Introduction
The discourse on corruption, transparency and accountability has not only become commonplace in general discussions and news headlines but the greater common factor in most intellectual and political forums held over the past few years in international and Egyptian venues. Many see that corruption played an important role in the birthing and complicating of that economic meltdown. As such corruption has come to the forefront as an intricate and multi-faceted phenomenon of political, cultural, ethical and legal dimensions.
In 2010, the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI) and Al-Ahram Centre for Political and Strategic Studies have partnered to implement the “Transparency and Integrity” project through two workshops that present four key research papers tackling issues of Budget transparency, access to information, conflict of interest and whistle-blower protection.
