Meet the filmmakers

This year’s edition of international Copenhagen based CPH:DOX documentary film festival will see the biggest Egyptian participation to date; eleven filmmakers, actors, writers and industry professionals from Egypt will be taking part in the industry and forum sections of the festival both on-site and online.

Light upon Light has been selected to premiere at the upcoming CPH:DOX 2022. The film has been supported by DEDI and is exploring the human desire for light, healing and love in a time of darkness.

Throughout March, you can find the photo of Hajar al-Beltaji here, in the public square of Kalundborg and the high school Vejen Gymnasium in Vejen, located in the Southern part of Denmark.

Water in the desert

Danish and Egyptian students of geoscience went on a joint field trip in Assuit from 4-8 April to study the history of climate change in the New Valley desert and Kharga Oasis.

Focusing on co-productions

The last week of March, 13 Egyptian filmmakers and industry professionals traveled to Denmark. Taking part in the world-renowned film festival CPH:DOX they got the chance to watch various documentaries, attend workshops, and enjoy the beautiful city of Copenhagen.

Bilingual stools in Denmark

A project that began in a small showroom in Cairo has now reached the Danish Museum Trapholt, where 13 pieces of furniture that have design prompts from Danish, Egyptian, and Pharaonic design culture were exhibited alongside world-famous designers.

Local stories of climate change

After the students from Egypt and Denmark had met in Assuit, students from Assuit University traveled to Denmark to learn more about Danish agriculture for the second half of the program “Sustainability in Agriculture.”
