CEFP was established in 2012 through cooperation between the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI), The Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD), and the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD). Each year an annual gathering takes place where all the experts, academics, trainers, alumni and other different stakeholders get together as an opportunity for networking and exchanging ideas and experiences.
In March 2016, The Alumni Annual Conference was held in an interactive ceremony. The participants were around 150 persons including academics, experts, and trainers who contributed to the program, the alumni in addition to a diverse group of stakeholders; media people, civic education and training experts.

The ceremony also witnessed the E-learning website’s launch, that aims to enhance the program’s outreach and accessibility through cooperation with a group of Egyptian academics and experts.

In addition, the “Road to Citizenship Education in Egypt” study was launched, which is a product of the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI) in partnership with the Egyptian Youth Federation (EYF) and the German Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb).
