After performing together in Cairo, The Egyptian music band El Dor El Awal will collaborate once again with the Danish poet Peter Laugesen at 3 concerts in Denmark.
Two joint concerts will be held on the 21st of June at the renowned Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, and on the 22nd of June at Atlas, the vibrant music venue in Aarhus.
Finally, as part of the NorthLit – Nordic Arabic Literature Festival, the band will perform at Testrup Højskole (Testrup Folk High School) to wrap up the festival with an unforgettable performance by the bonfire.
With their own personal sound and style, the music band El Dor El Awal presents a new mixture of Jazz & Oriental tunes. The band consists of musicians Ahmed Omar (bass), Mohammad Samy (violin), Bob (percussion), Fady Badr (keyboard), Mizo (conga) and Nour Ashour (saxophone). They will get to perform for the first time with the Danish guitarist Oliver Hoines.
NorthLit (20 – 24 June, Aarhus) is a new Nordic festival in Aarhus with a special focus on Arabic and Nordic Literature. For four days, the festival will present an extensive programme with a wide range of Danish and Arabic authors from around the world: Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Algeria, Lebanon, USA, France, England, Finland, Sweden, Norway – and Denmark.
