DEDI Alumni Club (DAC) will be screening and discussing the documentary ‘Seapiracy’ on the 10th August 2021.

Capitalizing on DEDI’s outstanding history of successful youth projects that mobilized and engaged hundreds of Egyptian men and women from all around the country, DEDI Alumni Club aims at exposing DEDI’s alumni to a pool of new opportunities, experiences and knowledge. It will provide the alumni with networking opportunities, gatherings and social events, peer-to-peer learning channels, and it will expose them to relevant activities in Denmark.

On Tuesday evening 10th August 2021, DEDI Alumni Club will host a screening, and a movie discussion of the controversial Netflix documentary’ Seaspiracy’, that proposes a different angel of the environmental impact of fishing. The film examines various human impacts on marine life and advocates for ending fish consumption.

With the aim of stimulating critical thinking and objective discussions, our guest speaker Janna Winther Jorgensen, the Danish environmental activist, will give a short talk to highlight the film critiques and present the counter argument. The discussion will be facilitated by Ahmed Yassin, the Egyptian environmental activist and the co-founder of Banlastic.

The event will take place at the premises of the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Initiative from 5 to 9 pm. If you are DEDI Alumni, you can register to attend through the following link:
