For the third year in a row DEDI participated in the People Meeting (Folkemødet) on the island of Bornholm in Denmark in June. As last year, we were centrally located – right by the harbor of the town of Allinge.
The program, which was developed in collaboration with DAPP partners and others, covered debates, dialogue and cultural events. Of the main activities were a discussion of importance of the DAPP program in light of the program’s new strategy (2017-2022), interview with the journalist Waleed Safi about his time in Mosul – trying to get a grasp of how the war against ISIL was been experienced by the city’s civilian population, panel with the Danish participants in the exchange program/network for young Danish and Egyptian politicians, concert with the Egyptian artist Nacy Mounir and the Danish musician Morten
The tent was visited by many and taking part in the People Meeting also gave us a chance to meet with numerous likeminded organizations some of which partook in DEDI’s traditional reception. We also got a chance to meet with many new possible partners.
