Helping vulnerable children

Racism is a global issue. In Egypt, Amira el-Masry is one of many who has devoted herself to do something about it. She has founded WANAS that is helping vulnerable children to play by offering a safe space. On a playground, she is gathering Egyptian children and refugee children from Syria and Sudan once a week. She helps them to learn about each other and makes sure that they have a lot of fun too. Amira el-Masry got inspiration to found WANAS after participating in a workshop organized by DEDI’s Civic Education for Participation Program.

The Danish journalist Sara Moeller has visited Amira el-Masry in Alexandria and witnessed her amazing work. Her article is written in Danish and published by DAPP (Danish-Arab Partnership Program). You can read the article HERE
