Communications Officer

In January 2022, Ms. Rowan El Shimi joined DEDI as communications officer. Her main responsibility is managing the communications unit at DEDI and producing content on DEDI’s activities.

Prior to holding this position, Ms. Rowan has been working as a freelance writer, photographer and filmmaker with several NGOs, cultural institutions and news outlets. Ms. Rowan has also held full-time positions as a culture journalist, video producer and unit manager at Mada Masr and Ahram Online.

Ms. Rowan El Shimi completed her Bachelor Degree from Modern Sciences and Arts University in Cairo, majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication.
