DEDI Green Gate first local meeting in Copenhagen

Is Denmark greenwashing itself? What is sustainability and what does it mean to be sustainable in the context of fashion? How does sustainable or “slow fashion” fall under ethical fashion – and in fact what does it mean to be ethical in the fashion industry?
All these questions and more were part of the discussions that took place in DEDI Green Gate’s first local meeting for the Danish fashion students, designers, and entrepreneurs in Copenhagen last Sunday. The participants also showed excitement to meet with their Egyptian counterparts in July as well as to visit Egypt in October to explore what sustainable fashion means in Egypt and how the scene differs from Denmark.
DEDI Green Gate 2023 brings together 24 Danish and Egyptian participants working on projects related to sustainable fashion, where through local meetings and international workshops in Copenhagen and Cairo they will explore the sustainable fashion scenes in both countries for inspiration, get the opportunity for peer-to-peer learning through exchange and receive training and insights from experts in the field.
