Ten Egyptian designers and 19 Danish designers and Master’s students at the Royal Danish Academy are pleased to welcome you to the first public reveal of the results of the Bilingual Design for Circularity program.
After a study trip in Denmark where the participants explored Danish design tradition and new examples of sustainable furniture designs in Denmark along with seminars at the academy on circular design and ancient Egyptian design, the participants were given a design brief to start working on their stools in teams of two. The design process is overseen & mentored by professionals from both Pinocchio Furniture Factory and the Royal Danish Academy. In November, the participants got together once again to work alongside the skilled craftspeople at Pinocchio Furniture Factory in Damietta to bring their designs to life – and you get to be there for the unveiling of pieces that are inspired by Egyptian and Danish design tradition but looking to a greener future.
Mark your calendars for the exhibition opening in Cairo on Friday December 1st. Location to be announced.
The exhibition is carried out by the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Initiative, Designdustry, Pinocchio Furniture Factory and the Royal Danish Academy.
